CBI Seeks Arvind Kejriwal’s Custody: Live Updates From Hearing
the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has moved to seek Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s custody in connection with the ongoing liquor policy case. Today, Kejriwal is scheduled to appear before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Courts, where the CBI will present its case seeking custody.
Previously, Kejriwal had been granted bail by a trial court in a related Enforcement Directorate (ED) case, a decision that was subsequently stayed by the Delhi High Court yesterday.
The matter is set to be heard by vacation judge Amitabh Rawat at the Rouse Avenue Courts. Simultaneously, the Supreme Court is slated to hear Kejriwal’s petition challenging the Delhi High Court’s June 21 order that stayed his bail. Notably, the Delhi High Court finalized its decision to stay the bail on June 25, a decision that is pending challenge.
A bench comprising Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti will preside over the Supreme Court hearing.
